Francisco Oropesa’s wife Divimara Nava has also been arrested for San Jacinto County, Texas mass shooting that left five dead. Oropeza is accused of shooting and killing his neighbors, including a 9-year-old boy, after they asked him to stop firing off shots in his Cleveland yard shortly before midnight Friday, police said.

After the neighbors dialed 911 several times, Oropesa went next door and opened fire on them with an AR-style rifle. An $80,000 reward was on offer for information leading to Oropesa’s arrest.

Who is Divimara Lamar Nava?

Divimara Lamar Nava was arrested on Wednesday after she was accused of hiding suspected shooter Franciso Oropeza in a house near Conroe, Texas, where he was found. Nava and Oropesa shared a child also. Nava is the wife of Oropeza.

She previously denied knowing where Oropeza was, said Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Handerson. Police said she actually hide him as the four-day search for him was underway. Oropeza was found hiding under a pile of laundry in the closet of a Conroe home on Tuesday.

According to online jail records, Divimara is being held on a $250,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail on a felony charge of hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a known felon. However, the same records show that Nova is not married.

Nova is accused of helping the suspect by providing material support and encouragement, food, and clothes and arranging transport to the home police found him in.

Oropeza is a Mexican national and has been deported from the United States four times. He will be charged with five counts of murder.

The house where Oropesa and Nova were both arrested is around 20 miles from where the shooting occurred in the rural town of Cleveland.

Domingo Castilla, Oropesa’s friend, was also arrested on Tuesday in the neighborhood where the shooting occurred, said San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon said. He was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession.
