Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, has added his own observation regarding Republicans’ claims of voter fraud in the ongoing US Midterm elections. On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump posted on election day, “Same thing is happening with Voter Fraud as happened in 2020???”

His post was regarding some disruptions in voting activity in the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona.

There were some issues regarding tabulation machines in these states, most notably in Arizona’s Maricopa County, where 20% of the tabulation machines stopped working due to a technical glitch, which was later solved by county technicians.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of the right-wing group Turning Point USA, had also alleged, “2 hour wait minimum at most polling places in Maricopa. Democrats running elections here knew this would happen. Traffic jam by design. DONT LET THEM DO 2020 AGAIN.”

His claims were quickly pointed out as baseless by Maricopa County’s official Twitter handle, which shared a screenshot of Kirk’s post and said, “No part of the tweet below is accurate. The vast majority of Vote Centers are seeing wait times under 30 minutes, and whether by tabulator or secure ballot box, all voters are being served.”

Kirk’s opinion was echoed by Trump on Truth Social, when he said, “They are trying to steal the election with bad Machines and DELAY. Don’t let it happen!”

Trump also posted on Truth Social regarding certain voting complications in Detroit, “The Absentee Ballot situation in Detroit is REALLY BAD. People are showing up to Vote only to be told, “sorry, you have already voted.” This is happening in large numbers, elsewhere as well. Protest, Protest, Protest!”

His claims were quickly refuted by Jocelyn Benson, Michigan’s Secretary of State, who said, “This isn’t true. Please don’t spread lies to foment or encourage political violence in our state. Or anywhere. Thanks.”
