Former US President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants will be booked via a special process in the Georgia racketeering case.

Trump and the co-defendants will be lodged at the Fulton County Jail, as opposed to the courthouse processing that took place in his past three criminal trials. They are free to turn themselves in at any moment in connection with this case, according to information released by the office of Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat.

On Monday, a grand jury returned an indictment against Donald Trump and his co-defendants, including attorney Rudy Giuliani and the former White House head of staff Mark Meadows. They are accused of conspiring and engaging in various activities in an effort to rig the 2020 election, among other things.

Sheriff Pat Labat in a statement said, “At this point, based on guidance received from the district attorney’s office and presiding judge, it is expected that all 19 defendants named in the indictment will be booked at the Rice Street Jail.”

The Rice Street jail will serve as the location for Donald Trump and his co-defendants’ booking, according to a statement from Labat’s office. Although the Rice Street jail is where this surgery is now scheduled to take place, it’s vital to keep in mind that plans are subject to modification at any time. The jail is open twenty-four hours a day, and as Sheriff Labat noted, defendants are free to show up for booking whenever they like.

The details of Donald Trump’s plans to be arrested and charged have not been made public by his legal counsel. Booking and arraignment are separate procedures, yet they both play crucial roles in the legal process.

During booking, suspects are formally processed, frequently involving steps like getting their fingerprints taken and getting their picture taken in a mug shot. Due to Trump’s widespread familiarity, mug pictures were judged unnecessary in his cases. However, he did get his fingerprints taken as part of the booking procedure.
