Amidst reports that Donald Trump will face a criminal referral from the January 6 committee, the former president is dealing with a tougher battle at home. CNN reports that his legal team has been “bogged down” by internal disagreements regarding the investigations he is facing.

Trump attorneys met on Monday to discuss what to expect from the committee today, but they seemed more concerned about other investigations the 76-year-old is facing. It includes the January 6 federal grand jury, the Mar-a-Lago documents, and the Georgia special grand jury.

The details about the disagreements were reported by CNN based on leads from multiple sources close to the legal team.

The report says that Trump lawyers have been engaged in serious disagreements over the past few weeks and are finding it hard to act as a unified front when it comes to deciding on a course of action on the several investigations facing the former president.

The most heated topic among the charges is the one related to the Mar-a-Lago documents.

The January 6 committee is holding its final public session on Monday, which will mark the end of the panel’s probe into Trump’s role in the Capitol Hill insurrection. They expected to also vote on the final report, which will be made public on Wednesday.

One thing Trump’s advisors will be keeping an eye on today is how in-depth the committee’s referrals are and whether they make any reference to Trump’s potential involvement in probe obstruction.

Although sources close to Trump claim the former President has told them he does not expect to watch, Trump advisers and aides will be keenly monitoring the meeting today.
