Former President Donald Trump’s mug shot will not be taken as he is arraigned in the 3rd indictment on Thursday at the E. Barrett Prettyman courthouse.

Trump will, however have his fingerprints taken digitally as part of the booking process. A U.S. Marshals spokesperson told NBC News that authorities will not take a mugshot of the former president. For booking purposes, an existing photo of the president will be used.

No mugshots have ben taken of Trump in any of his previous arraignments either, which were on charges of falsifying business records and mishandling classified documents.

Trump has chosen to wear a a blue suit and a red tie on the occasion of his latest arraignment. His motorcade was seen leaving his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club. He is expected to be present in person at the courthouse, which incidentally is just a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol where the infamous January 6 riots took place. The arraignment is expected to start at 4 p.m. ET.

 Trump informed his followers on Truth Social that he was on his way to Washington DC to get arrested and arraigned on charges of conspiring to overturn his 2020 election loss.

Trump wrote on Thursday at 12:01 p.m. ET: “I AM NOW GOING TO WASHINGTON, D.C., TO BE ARRESTED FOR HAVING CHALLENGED A CORRUPT, RIGGED, & STOLEN ELECTION. IT IS A GREAT HONOR, BECAUSE I AM BEING ARRESTED FOR YOU. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

The current charges have been brought against him by special counsel Jack Smith. Smith indicted Trump earlier this week. He alleges that Trump and a half-dozen co-conspirators devised a plan to overturn his 2020 election loss which violated multiple federal statutes.
