A horrific shooting incident occurred outside a house in El Cajon on Sunday. Authorities in El Cajon revealed on Sunday that a gang-related shooting at a boisterous house party claimed the lives of a 16-year-old child and an 18-year-old man.

El Cajon Police Department Lieutenant Will Guerin said, “Preliminary inquiries indicate that an attacker may have specifically targeted both victims. The culprit made a swift on-foot getaway before making off in a neighboring car. Gang activities are thought to be connected to the tragedy.”

Just before midnight on Saturday, police were called to the 700 block of Mahogany Drive. According to Guerin, when they arrived, they found one victim in the street and another in a house’s front yard.

Paramedics arrived quickly and transported both victims to a trauma hospital, but sadly, the gunshot wounds proved fatal.

Officers arrived at the site and saw a large number of people leaving the area.

After some research, it was discovered that the shooting happened during a big house party at a Mahogany Drive short-term rental residence. The inquiry into this unfortunate tragedy is still ongoing by the police.

Meanwhile, another horrific shooting incident occurred in Laurel on Sunday. According to a Facebook post, the Laurel Police Department was called to a shooting incident on Sunday at 4:10 p.m. that involved multiple victims.

While the inquiry is ongoing, parts of W. 7th St., Center Street, and W. 8th St. are closed off; the victims’ identities are being kept under wraps. The police have confirmed that there are still other suspects out there.

Authorities alerted the community to the possibility of a strong law enforcement presence from several collaborating agencies, including police K9 teams and aviation support. They also told everyone to stay away from the area and to phone 911 if they noticed any unusual activity.

According to WBOC news, three male teenagers have been named as the victims of shootings. As of now, their identities and situations remain unclear.
