Industrial designer, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Inc. Elon Musk on Friday stated that he tested positive for coronavirus while also testing negative, raising suspicions on the validity of rapid antigen testing procedures.

Musk, 49, raised questions on the validity of rapid antigen testing, and informed Twitter followers that he taken four Rapid Antigen COVID-19 tests testing positive twice and testing negative the remaining number of times.

The product architect of Tesla. Inc, Musk, tweeted, “Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for COVID four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.”

Musk had earlier informed followers that he had undertaken tests for COVID-19 following a slight fever and mild sniffles.

The co-founder of Neuralink, Musk, had been a vocal critic of lockdown orders in California and had junked concerns pertaining to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rapid antigen tests have gained popularity in recent times in view of backlogs at laboratories, but they are notorious for delivering false negatives, as they are less sensitive to small amounts of virus.
