A drone video captured the aftermath of an explosion that entirely destroyed a residence in unincorporated Lisle on Saturday, according to officials.

Elier Roman captured footage of the scene at Ivanhoe Avenue near Warrenville Road, where a house once stood, showing smoke and flames shooting out of a field of wreckage.

The Lisle Police Department announced on Facebook at 6:45 p.m. that it was helping firemen with a “incident” in the 4500 block of Ivanhoe. Residents have been urged to stay away from the area because of the heavy police and fire department presence there, which was subsequently verified by authorities to be a house explosion.

According to a tweet from the Lisle-Woodbridge Fire Department, no injuries were reported while they were on the scene of an explosion at a single-family residence.

The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas leak, according to Illinois State Police.

Lisle Woodridge Fire Chief Keith Kresan said the call came into 911 at 6:12 p.m. When crews arrived less than 3 minutes later, they found a single-family home destroyed and debris spread throughout the area.

Other residences were also damaged but nobody was hurt, according to reports.

Comed and Nicor Gas are assisting the crews.

“Our No. 1 priority is the safety of our customers and community. We ask for your patience as we continue to respond to this event and will provide updates as we learn more,” the company said.

Police warned people to avoid the area, but officials withheld any other details on the incident.
