Former President Donald Trump announced his presidential bid for 2024 from behind a podium at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday. However, his much-anticipated speech to take back the White House in 2024 did not pack as much punch as people originally thought it would.

People on Twitter were quick to call Trump’s speech “boring” as they noted that even right-wing media outlet, Fox News, which used to be a major supporter of the former leader, cut away from him mid-speech as he ranted away about immigration, crime, the economy, and more.

“This looks like Trump in as good a form as you have ever seen him,” Pete Hegseth of Fox News said, with Mike Huckabee adding that Trump would be “unbeatable” in 2024.

Sarah Matthews, a former Trump White House spokesperson, however, criticized Trump’s speech.  “This is one of the most low-energy, uninspiring speeches I’ve ever heard from Trump,” she tweeted. “Even the crowd seems bored. Not exactly what you want when announcing a presidential run.”

Her thoughts were echoed by a number of Twitter users.
“Even @FoxNews has cut away from the Trump speech. That tells you something right there.

A third tweeted, “Mark your calendars, folks — at 9:41pm, before Trump even finished his speech, Fox News cut away. We agree, this is low energy!”

One more said, “Even Fox News cut away from the rambling idiot. Now the audience is sitting down because they’re so bored. Trump’s a loser, everyone knows it. DeSantis will eat his lunch and then hopefully choke on it.”

Another stated, “Trump’s announcement went off the rails. It was so stupid that even FOX news stopped airing it. Yeah, THIS is what you want as president? You said Biden was too old in 2020. Trump will be the same age in 2024!”

The move comes after billionaire Rupert Murdoch, has supported the former President in the past, declared that he would backing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis if it comes to Trump and the latter in 2024 presidential race.
