Virgil Abloh, a celebrated global fashion icon, passed away on Sunday after a prolonged battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare yet aggressive type of cancer. From revolutionizing brands like Off White, Versace, and Kanye West’s creative agency Donda, Abloh inspired millions with his great fashion and even greater art of creating.

Abloh shared bonds with many celebrities and fashion icons, including supermodels such as Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Gigi Hadid and more.

Many celebrities took to their social media handles to share pictures and memories of Abloh, describing the enthusiastic and kind person he was. Various Bollywood stars as well paid tributes to the 41-year-old Off-White trailblazer.

Kendall Jenner, the world’s highest paid supermodel, expressed her shock and sadness in a recent Instagram post. Jenner added that despite Abloh knowing he had limited time, he continued to be full of love and kindness. Kendall’s sister Kylie Jenner also shared the post, with the caption, “This really hurts, we love you Virgil”.

The Hadids took to Instagram to share pictures of Abloh. Supermodel Bella Hadid expressed her grief and told the world about the person Abloh was. Warrior, ethereal light and bright, were words Bella used to describe Abloh’s persona. Gigi Hadid shared pictures with Abloh as well, offering condolences to Abloh’s wife, kids and parents.

International star Priyanka Chopra  shared a picture of Abloh on British Vogue’s Instagram account, adding “Gone too soon”.

Actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja shared Abloh’s pictures on  Instagram. She added, “This is so sad. I feel for his family. So young and dynamic. Rest in peace”.

Indian filmmaker and producer Karan Johar wrote, “This is just heartbreaking! RIP! What an immensely talented fashion force! He will be sorely missed”.

Kanye West, Hailey Baldwin, BTS and Drake also paid tributes to the icon.

Donatella Versace wrote in her Instagram post of Abloh referring him as “a creator for the history books”.
