The woman’s uncle, Parminder Singh, told local WTTV that his niece was sitting in her car in the driver’s seat when the gunfire erupted. “She called as I was asleep at home. She said there was a shooting in the FedEx. So we just drove from Brownsburg,” said Singh.

Singh added that she was shot on her left arm. “She’s fine, she’s in the hospital now.” Singh told the channels that his niece did not know who the shooter was.

The shooting took place at the FedEx facility in the 8900 block of Mirabel Road. Preliminary information from the department indicated the shooter took his own life. Eight victims at the scene were pronounced dead.

A man, who said he worked, at the plant told local broadcaster WISH-TV he saw the gunman start shooting and heard more than 10 gunshots.

“I saw a man with a sub-machine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open. I immediately ducked down and got scared,” Jeremiah Miller said.

Timothy Boillat, another employee at the facility, told WISH-TV that he saw around 30 police cars arriving at the scene as he witnessed the shooting unfold.
