More than 300 girls and women, including Olympians Aly Raisman and Simone Biles, have accused the former sports doctor at Michigan State University of assaulting them sexually while pretending to treat them for medical issues as part of a decades-long pattern of heinous abuse.

At some point, he acknowledged abusing athletes at the university and USA Gymnastics, which develops Olympians.

Three different prison terms in state and federal trials resulted from the decades-long abuse.

In January 2018, Nassar was even informed by Michigan Judge Rosemarie Aquilina that it was her “honour and privilege to sentence” him to 40 to 175 years in jail.

When Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 125 years in prison for molesting young girls at the Twistars Gymnastics Club in Dimondale, Michigan, more than 65 women testified during a separate hearing.

A furious parent who claimed that all three of his children had been sexually assaulted by Nassar attempted to attack him in court during that trial.

In addition, Nassar was given a federal jail term of 60 years for his involvement in child pornography.

Michigan State police arrested him in 2016, but the university was accused of missing many opportunities to detain the predator and agreed to a $500 million settlement with his victims.

USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee also agreed to a $380 million settlement for failing to protect their young athletes from Nassar’s abuse.
