It all started when host James Corden on the September 20 episode of his show, The Late Late Show’ called K-Pop band BTS‘ appearance at the United Nations General Assembly “unusual” and he didn’t just stop there, the host went on to call the band fans, popularly known as BTS ARMY, a group of 15-year old girls.

Here’s what Corden said!

“The United Nations General Assembly kicked off this morning in New York City, and it started with some pretty unusual visitors… BTS were there. BTS visited the UN… Although lots of people are saying why are BTS there, the world leaders have no choice but to take BTS seriously. BTS has one of the largest ARMY on the planet earth. Historic moment. It actually marks the first time that 15-year-old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary-General António Guterres,” Corden said.

However, Corden remarks didn’t go well for the ARMY members and they immediately took to social media to slam the host for his joke.

The fanbase also decided to revoke Corden’s ‘Papa Mochi’ nickname, which the ARMY earlier gave to the host.

After the overwhelming backlash, the video was deleted from ‘The Late Late Show’s social media platforms. However, ARMY members are not satisfied with the step and are demanding an apology from the host.

A section of social media users has also expressed their displeasure about James Corden still using the name “Papa Mochi” in his social media bio.

For the unversed, the host got the name during an interaction with the BTS boys in his show.

During the interview, Corden asked the boys about their nickname to which Jinmin replied that his nickname was Mochi. After that the singer dubbed Corden as ‘Papa Mochi,’ while the latter called him ‘Baby Mochi.’

After the endearing interaction, the ARMY has started calling him Papa Mochi and the host mentioned the same in his Twitter bio as well.
