Arkansas senator Tom Cotton spoke at the Republican National Convention on Thursday evening. While his address started with a brief recollection of his days at the army, it soon moved on to attacking the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden.

Referring to the motto of his old army unit which said ‘Stands Alone’, Cotton said that the Republicans will do just the same to defend the United States.

“Donald Trump understands this. He puts America first. That’s why America is safer now than four years ago,” he said, “but Joe Biden would return us to a weak and dangerous past. Barack Obama’s own Secretary of Defense said, Joe Biden has been wrong on nearly every major national security decision over the past four decades.”

Cotton then moved on to attack Biden over issues in the middle east, claiming that he “treated Israel like a nuisance.” His focus soon shifted on to China. “Joe Biden aided and abetted China’s rise for 50 years with terrible trade deals that closed our factories and laid off our workers. President Trump stands up the China’s cheating and stealing and lying.”

He continued, “Joe Biden allowed Chinese fentanyl to flood across our southern border. President Trump sanctioned Chinese drug dealers for poisoning our kids. Joe Biden said Chinese communist aren’t even our competitor, aren’t bad folks, just months before they unleashed this plague on the world.”

The senator said that the Chinese are rooting for Joe Biden, while saying that Trump has a clear vision about China.

The 43-year-old then proceeded on to say that Biden’s presidency could prove weak, which would strengthen other enemies of America as well.

“But if we want peace, we must be strong. Weakness is provocative. President Trump’s strength has kept us out of war. Joe Biden won’t stand up for America. Donald Trump will,” Cotton said, while asking the citizens to vote for the Republican President again.
