British billionaire Joe Lewis has turned himself in to American authorities in Manhattan, and he is scheduled to appear in court later on Wednesday to answer to allegations of insider trading, according to a representative of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office.
Lewis, whose family trust owns the majority of the Tottenham Hotspur football franchise, was charged by federal authorities with running a “brazen” insider trading operation by disseminating information about the firms he invested in to friends, personal assistants, private pilots and love relationships.
