Kris Jordan was a notable figure in Ohio politics and served as a Republican representative of Delaware County in the Ohio House of Representatives. He had been elected for a third term and had earlier served two terms in the Ohio Senate. He was 46 years old at the time of his passing.

Kris Jordan was married to Melissa Jordan, who is also involved in politics. Melissa Jordan previously served as the vice-chair of the Delaware County Republican Party and has also worked as a legislative aide in the Ohio Statehouse. Kris and Melissa Jordan have two children together.

Jordan’s parents were both educators. His mother was a high school English teacher, while his father was a principal and superintendent. Jordan has credited his parents with instilling in him a love of learning and a commitment to public service.

“Kris was a loving father, a man of faith, a leader, and a person I considered a very dear friend,” Jason Stephens, Ohio Speaker, said. “My heart goes out to Kris’s family, especially his three children and loving parents.”

In response to the passing of Kris Jordan, Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at the Ohio statehouse, as well as all public buildings and grounds throughout Delaware County. Governor DeWine expressed his and the first lady’s deep shock and sadness at what he called an unexpected loss.

He represented the 67th district, which covers parts of Delaware, Franklin, and Knox counties in central Ohio. Jordan was first elected to the Ohio House in 2018 and was re-elected in 2020. Prior to serving in the Ohio House, Jordan was a member of the Ohio Senate from 2011 to 2018, representing the 19th district. He also previously served as a member of the Ohio House from 2009 to 2010, representing the 2nd district.

His estimated net worth was around $5 million.
