Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett will perform as a pair in New York for the final time. On July 19, the pop sensation and jazz veteran revealed that they will play together for two nights at New York’s Radio City Music Hall next month, in what is being touted as their final concerts together.

One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga” will premiere on August 3, in honour of Bennett’s 95th birthday, and will be followed by a second performance on August 5. The two performers, who originally collaborated in 2011, are set to release a new album together later this year.

Bennett and his family revealed in February that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016. Despite his illness, the Grammy winner has continued to sing and perform music with the assistance of his physicians.

According to a press announcement for the occasion, the Radio City concerts will be Bennett’s final performances in New York City “set appropriately at a venue that Tony has enjoyed a multi-decade run of sold-out shows.”

Gaga announced the news on her Instagram account, writing: “I am so honored and excited to celebrate Tony’s 95th birthday with him at these special shows. “

The Tony Bennett Quartet, the Brian Newman Quintet, and an orchestra directed by Michael Bearden will perform song interpretations from the Great American Songbook of classics.

Live Nation will begin selling tickets for the performances on July 22nd at 10 AM  local time. On July 21st, from 10 AM to 8 PM local time, Citi cardholders will have access to presale tickets.

Fans must be properly vaccinated against COVID-19 and present proof of vaccination upon entrance at the event.

The sole exemption is for minors under the age of 16, who must show confirmation of a negative antigen or PCR COVID-19 1st test and be accompanied by an adult who has been properly vaccinated. The Radio City Music Hall website has detailed information on the vaccination policy.

Bennett’s family disclosed in February that the renowned singer had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease since 2016. Bennett’s treatment regimen reportedly included music, and he continued to travel following his diagnosis until the COVID-19 pandemic. Between 2018 and 2020, he and Gaga will record their next album, which will be the follow-up to their 2014 album, ‘Cheek to Cheek’, which won a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
