Yoni Barrios, the suspect in the stabbing incident at a casino in the Las Vegas strip, made his first appearance in court on Friday afternoon, CNN reported.
Based on the initial report presented by the police, Barrios has been put in police custody without bail and is scheduled to defend the charges against him during his first arraignment on Tuesday.

The Clark County District attorney Steve Wolfson reportedly intends to file two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon against Barrios. The police are still investigating the matter to add to an initial report released on Friday which was presented during the suspect’s first hearing.
Wolfson also said that 32-year-old Barrios is not a US citizen, and a report by Bill Melugin of Fox News claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had no record of Barrios entering the country legally.
“Whether he is a citizen or not we’re going to proceed based upon the evidence in this case, so that has no effect at all,” Wolfson told CNN, adding, “I am thinking about filing very serious charges based upon the evidence and based upon what you all know occurred just yesterday”.
He clarified that deportation is not an option at the moment as investigators are still gathering evidence against Barrios.
According to Friday’s police report, some people in the Las Vegas casino had laughed at Barrios and he “let the anger out” by going on a stabbing spree with a large kitchen knife.
The police report also said that Barrios told one victim “sorry man” before he stabbed him and added that he hoped the police would shoot him.
The stabbing incident that took place on Thursday killed two and injured six, the AP reported. The police arrested Barrios after a brief chase and also reportedly seized a “large, long-bladed knife” from him.
