According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, the Lone Star College campus in North Harris County is now on lockdown after a suspicious package was discovered.

The campus is located at 2700 W.W. Thorne, which is around Aldine Westfield Road.

Lone Star College police are collaborating with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office. People are being urged to avoid the area.

Meanwhile, police say a 14-year-old was unintentionally shot inside a residence in northwest Harris County on Friday afternoon. Deputies are looking into the incident.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of Harris County tweeted that deputies had gone to a residence in the 8400 block of Parasol Lane close to West Road.

Gonzalez claimed that one of the two teenagers, who were at the house with the 14-year-old victim and his 16-year-old cousin, may have been accidentally shot in the upper body or head.

According to reports, the 14-year-old was critically injured when taken to the hospital.

When ABC13 arrived on the site of the shooting, several people could be seen sobbing and clinging to the HCSO patrol cars.

The precise course of the shooting is unknown. According to deputies, neither the origin of the firearm nor the identity of the gun owner are known.

Initial charges have not been announced, but Gonzalez noted that under Texas law, if a gun is not secured, parents may face prosecution.
