Comic writer Stan Lee left an unforgettable impression on the Marvel fanbase. From Captain America to Spider Man, Stan Lee offered the world hope, happiness, and resonance, through his superheroes. On his birthday, we take a look at the comic legend’s best cameos over the years-

1. Spider-Man 3

In the 2007 film, Peter Parker, who is Spider-Man, sees a ticker sign on the street that reads “Spider-Man to Receive Key to the City.” As he smiles, Stan Lee makes a brief appearance, by walking up to him and saying, “You know, I guess one person can make a difference.” This short yet powerful sentence is exactly what Stan Lee means for many. A man who made all the difference in the world through his exemplary work. Many Marvel films are inspired by this very quote, where one superhero is enough to save mankind.

2. Mallrats

The 1995 rom-com is a 90’s classic to watch with your pals. What makes it even better is Stan Lee’s insightful conversation with Brodie, the protagonist. In the nearly 5-minute conversation, Stan Lee connects with Brodie, who recently broke up with his girlfriend. Stan Lee shares that he loved a girl as well, but he prioritised his comic work over her and so the girl ended up getting married to someone else. This led Stan Lee to create characters and superheroes out of his heartbreak. He then tells Brodie to not substitute any amount of fame or money for the person you truly love, and he would happily trade all of it for one more day with the girl he loved.

3.  Spider-Man: Homecoming

In the superhit 2017 film, Stan Lee makes a hilarious cameo, calling Spider-Man a “punk”. When Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in the film, strolls around the neighbourhood and sees a man trying to get in a car, he presumes that the man must be a thief. Contrary to his belief, the man apparently just had left his keys inside his car. This makes Spider-Man set off the car alarm, disturbing the whole neighbourhood. Stan Lee then pops out of a window and says, “Don’t make me come down there, you punk!” and then greets his next door neighbour like an absolute gentleman.

4. The Avengers

In a very short yet iconic cameo, Stan Lee appears at the end of the film, along with the general public. When asked about Avengers, many commoners rejoice at the mere mention of them, but Stan Lee ironically says, “Superheroes in New York? Give me a break.”
