Wildfires have struck the heart of Maui, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair. The picturesque city of Lahaina, situated on the northwest side of the island and boasting a population of around 13,000 residents, has been ravaged by the inferno.
The once vibrant community has been brought to its knees, with the loss of lives, injuries, and widespread devastation that has left both residents and onlookers stunned. Wildfire has killed at least 36 people, according to a press statement.
Hawaii’s acting governor, Sylvia Luke, painted a grim picture of the aftermath, declaring that entire communities have been wiped out by the flames. She urgently urged people to stay away from the affected areas due to ongoing safety concerns.
