At least four people were shot in two separate locations in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Two people have been reported dead and schools in the area are put on lockdown.

Though the two shootings happened within about an hour and were very close, the authorities said they were not connected.

Allegheny County dispatchers told Action News 4 that three people were shot at the Crawford Village Housing Complex at around 1 pm on Wednesday. While a fourth was shot nearby on Versailles Avenue, which happened about an hour earlier 

The County police confirmed that first responders found a 47-year-old man with a gunshot wound along Versailles Avenue after 911 got a call. He was taken to the local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

At around 1 pm, the authorities received another call for the shooting near the 50 building of Crawford Village, wherein they found three men shot. A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at that scene. A 30-year-old, shot in the chest was taken to the local hospital. An 18-year-old with a gunshot wound in the leg is now in stable condition in the hospital. 

The names of the four victims have not been revealed yet. 

The investigators gathered at Versailles Avenue and Ohio Street to inspect the crime spot. The evidence markers marked the ground in a grassy area along Ohio. Police also searched Crawford Village after the other shooting.

McKeesport Area School District said in a Facebook post that McKeesport Area Senior High School, Founder’s Hall Middle School and Twin Rivers Elementary went into an “exterior lockdown” because of nearby police activity. Dismissal for the high school and Founder’s Hall Middle School began at 2:30 pm. 

The authorities said it was notified of two separate incidents involving police and there are no active shooters and no threat to the general public.

Transportation routes may be delayed because of the heavy police presence in the areas of Crawford Village and Versailles Avenue, the district said.
