There are reports of a shooting at Musikfest 2022, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. One Twitter user posted a video of a police car arriving at the scene.

Another Twitter user chipped in, “Ofc there was a shooting at musikfest”. One individual reported news of the shooting and informed others that he was “Locked down and in a trailer locked down for shelter!!!!”. The incident has taken place near Wooden Match, as per the tweet.

One user said she’d received a call from her son saying “everyone was running and there are cops everywhere”, to which the person in the shelter replied they were settling down, but it seemed that the person shot was going to be okay and that the shooter had been apprehended.

Numerous posts went up quickly, asking people to avoid north Bethlehem, especially Main and Lehigh Streets, where Musikfest is taking place. The area is reportedly in lockdown.

Local news channels have reported that the FBI is also at the scene.

One Twitter account noted that one person has been injured in the incident, which occurred when the shooter allegedly tossed the firearm, hurting the other person.

Musikfest has been held since 1984 and is America’s largest non-gated free music festival. It starts on the first Friday of August and ends on the second Sunday after that. This year’s lineup includes the likes of Counting Crows, Willie Nelson, and Ja Rule.

Local media reports are saying for now that the cops have not officially declared it a shooting and are maintaining that they’re responding to an “incident”, but there’s heavy police presence in the area. As per reports, people at the festival heard a “loud bang” and began running, prompting a response and closer look from the authorities.

Wishes have already started pouring in for those attending the festival.

Meanwhile, another Twitter user raged about gun control in the nation, saying, “It was only a matter of time, since no meaningful policy has been enacted to prevent this. Super glad the people I know who were there are alive. But no one is ok as long as this is the norm for fourth of July parades and music festivals.”

Several attendees tweeted, marking themselves safe from the shooting at Musikfest, while one individual wondered if someone had killed themselves during the festival. Yet another person doubled down on the issue of gun problems in the US, saying that more weapons cannot be a solution.

They reminisced their past Musikfest experiences, where they’d witnessed “drunken scuffles and groups of teens throwing punches”, but had never seen people running for their lives.

Many pointed out that the shooting took place on the north side of the Musikfest, nowhere near the drag show. People were told to evacuate around 11, and cops are currently investigating, but have said that there is no imminent danger.
