Nintendo on Tuesday announced its updated Switch hand-held game console, which will launch at a suggested price of $350 on October 8.

The new console “is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” said Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser.

“With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire.”

Features –

1. The new Switch OLED model will feature a larger, seven-inch screen

2. The device will feature upgraded graphics

3. It will include an adjustable stand to allow for play in “tabletop mode” with multiple players

4. The device will have enhanced audio

5. It comes with a 64GB storage capacity and a LAN port

Soon after the announcement was made, several games took to Twitter to express their excitement.

“New Nintendo Switch model looks pretty clean and I’m absolutely glad that it’s just a minor screen, speaker and kickstand upgrade instead of being a whole new model a la the New 3DS that locks some new games behind a new console purchase,” one user wrote.

“Yooo my games on the Nintendo Switch OLED are going to look so clean,” wrote another user.

The Switch, which is a wildly popular handheld game console, was first released in early 2017. It offers game franchises such as Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and more.
