K-pop band Red Velvet’s member Joy and Korean singer Crush are dating, confirmed artists’ agencies SM Entertainment and P NATION on Monday. “They had a senior-junior relationship, but they recently began dating with good feelings toward each other,” the agencies said in response to Sports Chosun report claiming the two K-pop artists were in a relationship.

Joy and Crush collaborated for the blockbuster album ‘Mayday’ in May 2020 and were reportedly in touch with each other ever since. The song, Mayday’, was about the frustration of being stuck at home during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The report of Joy and Crush’s relationship comes just a few days after Joy’s band Red Velvet marked a re-entry in the music arena with Queendom, their first album after a hiatus of 2 years. 

Crush, on the other hand, was last seen on  Aku’s Next Episode track, Stupid Love Song, which went out last month.

The initial reports stated that Joy and Crush mutual interests lie in raising pets, and they enjoy simple dates such as walking their dogs together.

Joy and Crush’s relationship is the second Korean celebrity romance to make headlines this week after Bobby, a member of the K-pop band iKon, announced that he is expecting a child with his girlfriend, who he is going to marry next month.

Crush is currently completing his mandatory military service which he enlisted for back in November 2020. 

Joy, whose real name is Park Soo-young, is a South Korean singer, actress, and host. The artist debuted as a member of South Korean girl group Red Velvet in August 2014. Apart from group activities, she has also acted in the television dramas like ‘The Liar and His Lover’ and ‘Tempted’

Shin Hyo-seob, known by his stage name Crush is a famous hip hop singer who debuted on April 1, 2014, with the single “Sometimes” and released his first album ‘Crush on You’ on June 5, 2014.

Nine of Crush’s singles have peaked in the top five on Gaon Digital Chart, including “Just”, “Beautiful”, “Don’t Forget”, “Bittersweet” and “Sleepness Night.”
