A Las Vegas man, who was caught on a doorbell camera knocking on a woman’s door and making a threat to “rape and kill” her, has been taken into custody.

The woman was home alone on Wednesday when the man started knocking at the door. Since she did not know the man, the woman did not open the door. Her husband, who was not at home, accessed the intercom system and asked the man what he wanted.

The man responded, “What I am looking for is for the girl that’s in the house to come out here because I am going to rape her and kill her.”

“Can you have her open the door? I am going to rape and kill the girl that’s on the other side of this door. if she lets me in. I want to rape her and kill her. I have a knife and a gun,” he said.

The woman immediately called 911 and in the meantime, the accused walked away from the home.

Police arrived at her home and saw the doorbell video, which showed the man making threats. The woman then posted the video on social media to alert others about him.

On Thursday, a woman, who had seen the video circulating on the internet, recongised the accused and informed police, who arrived at the scene and took him into custody. The accused was booked into Clark County Detention Center for aggravated stalking, coercion, and obstructing a public officer.

Police have said that the man is still unidentified and is booked into CCDC as a “John Doe.” Additional details on the arrest will be provided as the investigation evolves.
