At least 20 people suffered injuries and one person was killed in a shooting that occurred overnight at a Juneteenth celebration in Willowbrook, Illinois, according to the police.
DuPage County Deputy Sheriff Eric Swanson told reporters that some of the injured were sent to hospitals by ambulance and others just strolled in, as per CNN.

According to Joe Ostrander, battalion head of the Tri-State Fire Protection District, at least 12 ambulances arrived at the scene.
The incident allegedly occurred around 12:30 a.m. in a parking lot in Willowbrook, roughly 21 miles west of Chicago, according to witnesses.
According to Swanson, the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
Ten patients with injuries ranging from minor gunshot wounds to more serious ones were sent to four hospitals, and two of them were in critical condition.
After gunfire erupted during an unlawful street takeover attended by at least 300 individuals overnight, emergency personnel reacted to the incident outside the Willowbrook retail mall in Illinois.
At 5:30 a.m., a large police presence remained on the area and is investigating. There have been no arrests, and no other information has been published.

The shooting in Illinois was one of numerous nocturnal incidents of violence on this holiday weekend, which comes just before Father’s Day and Juneteenth on Monday.

One youngster was murdered after at least ten people under the age of 18 were shot early Sunday morning in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. near Washington Avenue and 14th Street, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, according to KMOV-TV.
According to witnesses, the shooting occurred inside a building. At the scene, one of the teenagers was pronounced deceased. The victims’ names and the situations of those injured in the incident were not immediately available.
