The 24th Annual Sweet Sounds Downtown Music Festival’
opening night in Westfield, New Jersey has been postponed until Wednesday due
to the thunderstorm warning issued for the area on Tuesday.

The weather has played spoilsport as organizers push back the
opening night of the music festival by one day. The other nights of the
festival will go ahead as per schedule. The festival will run every Tuesday for
the next two months

“We will have two bands tomorrow evening [Wednesday]
from 7 to 9 pm: Swing Town (Big Band) will play on Central Avenue near Turning
Point Restaurant and Landing Party, a rock band will play at Foundation Park on
South Avenue. We hope the weather is better”, the sponsor of the festival Downtown
Westfield Corporation (DWC) said, the Patch reported.

The tropical storm Elsa is on track to hit New Jersey on
Friday.

The festival will be featuring all kinds of music, from jazz to
rock and roll, country music, and other music genres this year. Music fans can
enjoy the festival at three downtown venues: 137 Central Avenue, 125 Quimby Street, and 439 South Avenue.

The season of Sweet Sounds wraps on August 31. That Tuesday night
will feature a special “Country on Quimby” concert performed by Nikki Briar and
the Sweet Briar Band and there will be line dancing, organizers said.

Elsa is lashing the Florida Keys as of Tuesday, unleashing
heavy winds and dumping as much as 8 inches of rainfall. The storm is expected
to strengthen into a hurricane before it makes landfall in the state early on
Wednesday.
