Investigations continue into the cause of a massive fire on the northbound side of Interstate 95 in Groton, Connecticut, including the Gold Star Memorial Bridge, which resulted from a fuel tanker truck rollover on Friday morning, according to reports.

While the northbound side has been reopened, the southbound side remains closed for further assessment. Connecticut State Police have advised drivers to avoid the area and consider alternative routes until further notice.

New London Mayor Michael Passero confirmed to FOX61 that the driver of the truck died in the accident. Details about other injuries are not known at the moment. Reports say that The Naval Submarine Base in New London is sending its firefighters to help with the fire.
