The 2021 Billboard Music Awards, which are scheduled for Sunday, will be hosted by pop singer Nick Jonas while his wife and actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas will make an appearance as a presenter.

According to Page Six, Priyanka is coming to Los Angeles from London to help her husband after he recently cracked a rib in a bike accident.

“Priyanka is coming to LA from working in London to help Nick with his injury and to give him support. They have limited time in LA together, so she wanted to be there to support him,” a source told Page Six.

The celebrity couple announced this year’s Academy Awards nominations as well.

For Nick, this is the first time he is hosting the award show. He won three Billboard Music Awards last year.

On April 30, he shared a video of himself with the “preemptive best host ever” award. He wrote, “Truly an honor to have already received the first preemptive 2021 #BBMAs award. Best host ever?! Wow! Tune-in May 23rd at 8pm ET/5pm PT on @nbcsly77.

Meanwhile, Priyanka will be joining the list of presenters that includes celebrities like Kathryn Hahn, Kelsea Ballerini, Lena Waithe, Leslie Odom, Cynthia Erivo, Chelsea Handler, Dixie D’Amelio, Gabrielle Union, Henry Golding, Lil Rel Howery, Padma Lakshmi, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Swizz Beatz, and Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson.

Billboard Music Awards is the first live award show to take place in the US since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country. The show will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on May 23, at 8 pm ET (5.3am IST) on NBC.
