The first-ever criminal arraignment of a former American president took place on Tuesday when Donald Trump faced a courtroom in Manhattan. At about 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, he left Trump Tower for the court, waiving to the photographers before he rode off in a motorcade to be arrested and charged.
When Van Jones recently appeared on CNN to discuss Trump’s arraignment, he was heard saying “He [Trump] looks sad. That’s a grandad having a very bad day.”

This drew a lot of criticism for Jones, who was accused of attempting to make the audience feel sorry for Trump. Here are some Twitter reactions about the same:
Van Jones just said….."I don't take much joy in this. I don't see a conquerer. I see a grandad having a very bad day."
REALLY ? The LAST thing I see is a grandad. The FIRST thing I see is a career criminal that finally got caught. #Trump #TrumpArrested @CNN

Van Jones just said we shouldn't celebrate, and Trump is "a grandad" getting arrested. Oh. My. God,. shut up, Van!

And Van Jones on CNN, practically in tears, talking about how hard it must be for his grandkids. 😂

Van Jones attempting to humanize Donald Trump does not sit well with me. Donald Trump expressed nothing but hatred for The Central Park Five (The Exonerated Five) not giving a damn about their families. So yes, we’re celebrating the arrest of Donald J. Trump. #arrestmas…

In preparation for his arraignment, Donald Trump is being screened at the Manhattan district attorney’s office while in police detention. In the wake of his remarkable indictment, he will formally become the first president to be tried for a crime when he shows up in court.

In connection with an investigation into the hush money payments made to a porn star in 2016, CNN has revealed that Trump would be charged with more than 30 charges of business fraud. The former president will enter a not-guilty plea and defend himself against the accusations, according to Trump’s legal team.
Unfortunately, a court rejected a request from a number of media sites and decided not to permit media sources to live stream Tuesday’s arraignment.
While most of the public is in favor of Trump being charged and arrested for his alleged crimes, there is a sizeable fan following of Donald Trump that does not wish for the ex-President’s arraignment. Several people on Twitter have started a trend where they have all tweeted the same thing: ‘I stand with our President, Donald J Trump’.

On the other hand, other Twitter users are celebrating his arrest, with one user commenting “Trump Arrested. Stop saying this is a sad day -this is a great day!, while another said, “Was away from the TV for about an hour and came back to this… The words “Trump under arrest” made me emotional… In a joyful kind of way.”
