A small plane crashed at Pearson Field Airport in Vancouver on Tuesday morning, killing one person. 

The crash took place around 7.30 am on the runway at the airport. The aircraft caught fire on impact. The pilot, who was the only occupant of the aircraft, was killed in the crash. Authorities said the pilot made a brief emergency contact with the Port of Portland before the crash.

The identity of the deceased pilot was being withheld pending notification of the family.

Meanwhile, multiple engines and a fire truck were present at the scene of the crash.
