The US political system has been divided over the interpretation of implementing critical race theory in the country%u2019s education system, with the conservatives and liberals ideals being in a constant tussle.
But what is critical race theory?
Critical race theory is a framework for education in the United States, which has been in the legislative pipeline for months. The initiative aims to reform the system by creating a distinction between racism being existent in the United States in a systematic manner and not just being a trait of an individual or organisation. The concept puts a lens of America%u2019s past, in terms of racism, while viewing modern-day dynamics of the country.

Multiple lawmakers of the Republican party have rallied against the critical race theory in both the US Senate and the House of Representatives while the Democratic party has pushed for its implementation. The major argument dividing the proponents and opponents revolves around America%u2019s roots.
According to reports from The Washington Post, a vast majority of the members of the Republican party believe that the white people in America will start to think they have been inherently racist.

On the other hand, many members of the Democratic party are of the notion that racism has been a part of American history and it needs to be viewed with acceptance. The critical race theory approaches education with the existing belief that racism has been a part of the United States judicial, legislative and executive processes.
