After a first-alarm brush fire broke out in north Scottsdale on Tuesday, evacuation orders have been issued.

The 700-acre “Diamond Fire” that started around 128th Street and Ranch Gate Road on Tuesday evening has been put out by fire firefighters, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

State land is responding to offer assistance after crews sought air help.

West of 152nd Street, south of Rio Verde Drive, east of 136th Street, and north of Jomax have all received evacuation orders.

Firefighters advised evacuees to bring their pets, prescription medications, water, snacks, and identity cards.

According to an Arizona Foothills 911 organizer, they will be taking animal evacuations to the Cave Creek rodeo grounds. Additionally, veterinarians are coming.

The address of the Cave Creek Rodeo Grounds is 37201 N. 28th Street.

Several hundred horses will be removed from the properties south of 136th Street and Rio Verde Drive, according to J-F Equine Services, as the evacuation process continues.

The team is implementing fire protocol created with the neighborhood fire stations as a precaution. The property’s edge small animals under rehabilitation are being brought to the center of the land in crates. Additionally, some efforts are being made to spray down the vegetation around the property’s boundary and in the fire’s path. According to personnel at the shelter, the fire protocol is to take cover.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
