Actress Melissa Joan Hart recently opened up about her experience helping kindergarten students escape from the tragic mass shooting that took place near The Covenant School in Nashville on March 27, 2023. 

In an emotional video shared on her Instagram account, Hart recounted how she and her husband, Mark Wilkerson, were on their way to a conference at the school when they saw children trying to flee the area. 

The couple said that they helped the young students cross a busy highway and reunite with their teachers and parents. Hart’s heroic actions have earned her widespread praise and admiration.

Melissa Joan Hart has three children with her husband, Mark Wilkerson. All three are sons, Braydon, born in January 2006, followed by Mason, in March 2008, and Tucker, in September 2012. 

The family previously lived in Westport, Connecticut, before moving to Lake Tahoe in 2019 and then to Nashville in 2020. They are Presbyterians and attend church regularly. 

In March 2023, Hart helped escort some of the fleeing children to safety during a mass shooting near The Covenant School in Nashville. 

Hart has expressed support for some Republican candidates in the past, including endorsing Mitt Romney for president in 2012, but has also supported increased gun control measures and donated to Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson’s campaign in 2016.
