A 20-year-old man identified as Austin Prather is being sought after after he is thought to have shot two persons in Pulaski County, Kentucky, killing both. Prather is thought to be dangerous and armed.
The victims were discovered dead in their houses; their identities have not yet been made public. Prather is thought to be the victims’ grandson.
Who is Austin Prather?
Austin Prather is 20 years old. He is a white man with hazel eyes and brown hair who is about 5’10” tall. The last known vehicle he was operating was a brown 2013 Jeep Wrangler.
On Tuesday at approximately 11:47 p.m., officers responded to a complaint from a shooting victim on Raleigh Road.
When police got there, they discovered that Mr. Prather’s wife, 65-year-old Joann Prather, had been shot and stabbed but was still alive and that her husband, 67-year-old Ardyth Prather Jr., had died from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Mrs. Prather received medical attention on the spot and was flown to Lexington by helicopter. According to the police, her current state is unknown.
Police found blood on the door of a neighboring property after doing an additional investigation. Ardyth Prather III, 43, was discovered deceased inside the house, according to the police.
The victims’ son and grandson, Austin Prather, 20, has been named as the suspect by the police. As per the police, he left the scene driving a brown 2013 Jeep Wrangler and was suspected to be “armed and dangerous.”
According to officials, Prather will be charged with two charges of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with an arrest warrant that will be issued later today.
