Republican from Ohio and House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has announced his candidacy for Speaker of the House. This is in response to his earlier this week loss to Majority Leader Steve Scalise in an internal conference vote. On Thursday, Scalise then withdrew his candidacy.
Rep Scott voiced disapproval of the eight Republicans who voted with all House Democrats in the previous week’s vote to oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy from office. He described them as “nothing more than grifters who have handed control of the House to the Democratic Party in the name of their own glory and fundraising.”
Following his declaration, Scott’s personal life piqued the interest of numerous individuals and received substantial media coverage. He and Vivien Scott are wed.
Who is Vivien Scott?
Vivien Scott is the wife of GOP Rep. Austin Scott. They met while attending college and got married in 1991. Wells, Gabriela, and John Philip are their three proud children.
Despite Vivien’s tendency to maintain a lower public presence than her spouse, she has consistently supported Austin in his political and personal pursuits. She has shown her dedication to his job by participating in a few of his political campaigns.
