Herschel Walker, Republican candidate for US Senate, is being criticised on social media after a video of him blaming ex-wife Cindy Deangelis Grossman’s ‘awful genes’ for his ‘ugly’ son Christian has surfaced online.
A Twitter account PatriotTakes shared clips of Walker’s speech, from 2019, to military personnel and civilian staff at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. The former NFL player was seen saying that his child looked like an alien.
“When I delivered him, he had this long old head. No, seriously. He looked like an alien. I told my wife, ‘Have your parents got some awful genes and stuff?’ You said, no matter how ugly your child is, you think he’s pretty. So they clean Christian up and stuff, and they clean him up, and I put the cap on top of his crown […] and I think, he’s not that bad,” the politician can be seen saying.
The video has been liked 3,300 times as of Friday night.
“If the dude hates kids so much how come he has another one like every 90 days?” a Twitter user commented.
“Who listens to this guy speak and says “that man should be a US senator”?” another one added.
