Dylan Mulvaney received a reaction from Anheuser-Busch after the transgender influencer claimed the brewer never got in touch with him during the outcry over their contentious alliance.

Mulvaney, who self-identifies as female, wrote about the online “bullying and transphobia” that erupted after Bud Light put Mulvaney’s visage on a personalized beer can in a post on Instagram on Thursday. The TikTok celebrity stated, “I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did.”

Mulvaney added, “For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse in my opinion than not hiring a trans person at all because it gives customers permission to be as transphobic and hateful as they want.”

Without specifically referencing Mulvaney, the corporation has sent a generic statement to numerous media sites pledging its support for the LGBTQ+ community.
