The Akron, Ohio community is on edge as law enforcement intensifies its search for an escaped inmate.

Who is Jason Lyle Conrad?

Jason Lyre Conrad is the escaped inmate. The incident occurred when Conrad was being transported to Summa Health White Pond Medical Center in Akron on Tuesday morning.

Despite being handcuffed and wearing a boot due to a previous injury, Conrad managed to escape as a deputy was removing him from the transport vehicle.

Authorities have launched a widespread manhunt to locate Conrad, with assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, as well as officers from Akron, Fairlawn, and Copley.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert, sharing multiple images of Conrad on social media platforms in an effort to gather information from the public. Conrad, described as a 5’9″ white man weighing 150 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes. He may be wearing either an orange shirt and pants or blue shorts.

The escaped inmate faces serious charges, including willfully fleeing, possession and trafficking of drugs, and a parole violation. Law enforcement agencies are treating the situation with utmost urgency and are actively pursuing leads to ensure Conrad’s swift apprehension.
