Georgia woman Lindsay Shiver was arrested and charged in the Caribbean after being accused of plotting to murder Robert Shiver, a former Auburn University football player.

Authorities reportedly stumbled upon Lindsay’s murder plot when they were investigating a different case. The local police were searching the phone of a suspected burglar at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Great Guana Cay, Bahamas earlier this month, when they unearthed texts related to the plot. Two men related to the plot have also been arrested, including Terrance Bethel, 28 — believed to be Lindsay Shiver’s lover — and Faron Newbold. It is unclear whose phone revealed the murder plot.

Who is Lindsay Shiver?

Lindsay Shiver is 36 years old and met her husband, Robert during a fitness class at Auburn University in 2007. In the caption of a 2020 post, Lindsay wrote, “So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe. Cheers to many more.” One of the pictures showed on the couple on their wedding day.

Lindsay was named Miss Houston County in 2005. She finished second in the National Peanut Festival pageant that year. Robert on the other hand had a career with Auburn University, before he signed with Atlanta Falcons as a free agent. However, he was cut before the start of the 2009 season. Lindsay Shiver met her alleged lover Bethel at the house owned by the estranged couple in the Bahamas. After Robert found out about Lindsay’s affair, he filed for divorce. That was when Lindsay allegedly paid a hitman to carry out the murder.

Lindsay Shiver, Bethel and Newbold have been transported from Guana to Nassau, following their arrest. They were not required to enter a plea. They appeared in court on Friday. They are due back in court on October 5.
