Mitchell Wasek, the son of one of Buc-ee’s co-founders, is accused of secretly filming guests at both his Dallas home and his father’s property on Lake Travis.

The 28-year-old was detained in Travis County on Tuesday as a result of the accusations listed in the affidavit for the arrest. He is alleged to have secretly videotaped people changing into new clothes, using the restroom, and taking a shower, as well as participating in personal acts.

A cyber security expert visitor to the family’s lake house informed the police that they had discovered a charging port attached to the wall of a guest bathroom. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, this finding resulted in the discovery of a hidden camera. A micro-card was built into the camera, which the friend removed. Upon review, they claimed to have seen people getting undressed in the house’s bathrooms and bedrooms, among other places.

Who is Mitchell Wasek?

Mitchell Wasek is 28 years old. He is the son of the co-founder of Buc-ee, Donald Wasek. He was immediately freed an hour after his arrest after posting a $280,000 ($10,000) total bond for all charges. According to the Travis County jail’s records, he is also subject to the restriction from communicating with the complainants.

Donald E. Wasek, Mitchell Wasek’s father and one of Buc-ee’s co-founders, is listed as the owner of the priceless property in the Travis Central Appraisal District records.

Court records state that a woman told authorities that she and a number of her friends were staying at Mitchell Wasek’s lake property when a friend, who works in cybersecurity for the Department of Defense, discovered a hidden camera that was wired to a charging plug in their bathroom.

The group made the decision to bring the camera along, and when looking through its micro-card, they came across a number of movies that showed them and other people in various states of undress in bathrooms and bedrooms, both at the lake house and Mitchell Wasek’s house in Dallas.
