Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina made a comical risqué anecdote in her remarks on Wednesday at Sen. Tim Scott’s prayer breakfast on Capitol Hill. She claimed that despite his best efforts to get her to stay in bed that morning, she still insisted on being on time and attending the breakfast.

Mace told a funny daytime story during her opening remarks. She claimed that her fiancé Patrick had made fun attempts to get her to stay in bed when she woke up at 7 o’clock knowing she had to be picked up at 7:45. She remembered laughing as she said, “No, baby, we don’t have time for that this morning.” She reaffirmed her resolve to be quick for the prayer breakfast, saying, “I gotta get to the prayer breakfast, and I gotta be on time.”

Who is Nancy Mace?

Nancy Ruth Mace was born on December 4, 1977. She is an American politician and has been serving as the U.S. representative for South Carolina’s 1st congressional district since 2021. Her district surrounds a significant portion of the state’s East Coast, stretching from Charleston to Hilton Head Island.

Mace, a pioneer in her own right, made history in 1999 when she became the first woman to complete The Citadel’s Corps of Cadets program. In her political career, Nancy Mace has seen significant changes in her views on Donald Trump. She helped him get started by contributing to his 2016 presidential campaign. She harshly denounced Trump following the horrific incident, saying that the circumstances of that day had entirely destroyed his legacy.
