Northwestern University Ph.D. student Peter Salvino, 25, has gone missing after leaving a party in Lincoln Park over the weekend. Since Monday night, the police have launched a desperate search for the individual.
Salvino’s family and friends have asked for the public’s help to check surveillance footage of nearby businesses and residences with the hope that they can locate the missing man by retracing his steps since he left the party.

“We’ve been here all day today; all day yesterday; all night yesterday,” said Salvino’s brother-in-law, Scotty Gruszka. Nick Saleh, Salvino’s closest friend, said, “Check the alleys, the dumpsters – anything really, please.”

Peter Salvino is from Chicago. He is a doctoral student at Northwestern University. He is six-foot-one and weighs about 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and maroon pants.

The 25-year-old was spotted in a photo at The Wieners Circle, 2622 N. Clark St., before meeting friends at a house party. After that, Salvino vanished Saturday night. The restaurant posted surveillance photos of Salvino.
The last known contact made with Salvino was on FaceTime early Sunday, according to the Chicago police. He was last seen around 1 a.m. according to his social media. He arrived at the party that was being held in the 2400 block of North Geneva Terrace but never made it home. According to his family, Salvino had been drinking at the party but was not wasted or unable to walk home, which was just a few blocks from the party.

When Salvino did not meet his father Sunday for the Bears game and his phone went to voicemail, Gruszka said it was clear something was not right.
“People don’t vanish out of thin air,” Gruszka said, “and again – he was a great guy. There’s no reason to believe that he would have just gone off the grid, so, you know, we can’t rule out anything, obviously.”
