A retired doctor in Colorado was arrested after police allegedly found guns, drugs, and prostitutes on his luxurious yacht anchored in Nantucket Harbor.

Scott Anthony Burke, 69, the owner of the yacht called Jess Conn, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning following a raid on the vessel that’s registered in the Cayman Islands, the Nantucket Current reported. Burke has also been accused of drug trafficking and weapons charges.

It all unfolded after the police received a report just before 8 a.m. that a woman on board the yacht was in need of “medical assistance,” police said in a statement. The woman was ultimately transported to the Nantucket Cottage Hospital. However, it remains unclear as to why she needed medical assistance and what her condition is at the moment.

Prostitutes, drugs, firearms, and other contraband, were uncovered at the vessel by cops and the Coast Guard after a thorough search of the ship. Burke was on the yacht at the time. He was initially arrested on two counts of possessing a firearm without a license.

Later on, additional charges were brought against him including having ammunition and possession of Class A and B drugs following the raid. /details of the investigation have not been disclosed. “This case remains under investigation at this time,” the police said, without providing additional details.

Previously, he ran a spine and rehabilitation clinic based in Denver. According to his LinkedIn profile. he owns a medical insurance company that provides lien services for third-party liability claims.

The arraignment date for Burke in Nantucket District Court on the weapons and drug-related charges is next Monday.
