He filed a lawsuit against the Trump International Beach Resort in Florida after suffering third-degree burns from’searing’ hot pool deck and beach sand that cost him a toe and a portion of his foot.

He filed a complaint on Friday with the New York Supreme Court, alleging negligence on the part of the resort for failing to post signs suggesting footwear.

He stated that during his August 2022 visit, the surfaces within the resort were “scorching hot,” resulting in “devastating” third-degree burns to both of his feet.

Lekas claims that his weekend excursion to the Sunny Isles resort “irrevocably and seriously impaired” his life and is suing for an undisclosed sum.

Lekas’ attorney, Bill Matsikoudis, told DailyMail.com that the amount of damages claimed will probably be “north of $1 million.”

Donald Trump, the former president, does not personally control the resort; rather, it is a part of The Trump Organization, of which he is the founder and primary owner.

The resort ‘touts its collaboration’ with the real estate tycoon, according to the lawsuit.

Lekas said that the resort was “negligent” and “failed to post signs or any other warnings” about the scorching surfaces, resulting in his suffering serious, permanently altering burns.

He also charged Trump International with neglecting to put down mats or hose down the floors to reduce the temperatures.

Lekas said he only became aware that his feet were peeling on the last day of his trip while putting on socks after roaming around the resort over the course of his weekend visit.

The lawsuit claimed that after getting home, his health worsened to the point that he had to hastily bandage up his severely burned feet and call an ambulance.

His right foot developed a “bullet-hole-shaped ulcer,” which “grew wider and deeper, until it reached the bone,” while his left foot recovered from the severe burns.

Lekas reported that after that, one of his toes turned black and developed gangrene, and his foot grew to the size of a football.

After a second, 16-day hospital stay, the foot was amputated as a result of the ordeal.

The lawsuit further stated that he has “been told to expect further surgeries” and that the wound has not healed, creating a serious threat to his health.

Lekas asserted that his ongoing suffering from losses such as bodily harm, pain and suffering, mental, emotional, and physical distress, lost wages, and high medical costs.
