A 10-year-old Kendrick McDonald, who was shot at a house close to 31st & Myrtle streets, passed away from his wounds. Officials have confirmed Kendrick McDonald’s tragic passing. The situation’s extreme tragedy was conveyed by Omaha Police Captain Jeremy Christensen.

Police officials have arrested his father in connection to the murder of a 10-year-old. The man has been identified as Will McDonald.

Who is Will McDonald?

Will McDonald is 47 years old. He is the father of 10-year-old Kendrick McDonald. McDonald was taken into custody on suspicion of using a weapon to commit a felony, having a gun without permission, and committing criminal homicide.

The person accountable for the unfortunate event has been taken into custody on suspicion of committing a felony with a weapon, possessing a firearm by someone who is not authorized, and criminal homicide. This information was given by Captain Jeremy Christensen, who said that the suspect was detained and charged with these offenses.

At 11:30 on Thursday night, the Omaha Police Department was called to a residence in reference to gunfire. Officers found a child with a gunshot wound when they arrived. 

Several witnesses who were inside the house were brought in to be questioned. According to reports, a car alarm was going off at the scene, and the father is thought to have been involved in the tragic incident because he thought there might be a car theft going on.

The father has been arrested and is in custody, facing charges of criminal homicide, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The loss of two family members in one night was a heartbreaking situation, according to Captain Jeremy Christensen.
