“As soon as I saw the blood, that’s when I realized something wasn’t right,” Emily Castillo, her sister, told the local station. “So I called my mom to let her know to come over and then I immediately called 911.”

Items like her phone, keys, and car, were still at the home.

When did Rachel Castillo disappear?

Officers with the Simi Valley Police Department first responded to a call of suspicious circumstances at the residence of Castillo Thursday night, last week. At that time, her whereabouts remained unknown.

Rachel’s mother, Robyn Castillo, told CNN that Rachel’s sister, Emily Castillo, had found the blood at the home that evening. “She entered the home, saw the blood and then called me and then called 911. So, I quickly rushed over, and we both entered the home again,” Robyn said.

The Simi Valley Police Department had said in an earlier statement: “Upon further investigation, a significant amount of blood was located in her home. Rachel’s whereabouts are unknown. Given the circumstances, it is believed Rachel is at risk.”
