Tanner Hoang, a student at Texas A&M University who went missing on the day of his graduation was found dead on December 24, 2022, in Austin.

He was reported missing by his family on December 16, 2022, after he did not attend a lunch meeting on his college graduation day. Police since then were doing an investigation and were in search of Tanner Hoang.

Who was Tanner Hoang?

Tanner Hoang was a 22-year-old student from the Dallas area, Flower Mound. He was studying mechanical engineering at the Texas A&M University.

According to his uncle Tuan Hoang from League City, Tanner was a “fun-loving, kinda quiet but personable young man and very humble. Any parent would love someone like Tanner to be their son.”

He went missing on the day of his college graduation, December 16, 2022. According to his father, the text he sent to his son Tanner on the morning of December 16 around 8:30 a.m. was read. Tanner was then supposed to show up at a lunch meeting which he did not attend. As per the debit card details, Tanner stopped at the gas station to fill up the car’s tank in Caldwell, Texas.

His dead body was discovered on December 24, 2022, on Pennybacker Bridge which spans the Colorado River on Highway 360. The news of his death was given by his family through an announcement on social media.

His cause of death was not declared by his family but there is no involvement of foul play.

After Tanner’s sudden disappearance, his other uncle, Bao Hoang said, “He was supposed to graduate but I’m not sure what happened that would cause him to leave.”

Tanner’s family on the Facebook group Finding Tanner Hoang wrote, “This afternoon Tanner was found deceased in the vicinity of the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360. This is not the outcome that we have all been praying for, but on this Christmas Eve, Tanner is now in the arms of his Savior, King, Prince of Peace, Joy, and Healer. No foul play is suspected.”

After Tanner’s death, his family thanked everyone who supported them in his investigation and search process.
