Tim Yergeau, a former Connecticut Planned Parenthood honcho committed suicide days after police failed to arrest him on child pornography charges. Police raided his home in connection with a child pornography investigation.
“The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide,” New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson told the New Haven Registrar.

Five days ago, officers of the Special Victims Unit investigating the case reportedly broke down the door of Yergeau’s neighbor in New Haven and handcuffed the woman, Stacey Wezenter, before realizing they had raided the wrong apartment.

Who was Tim Yergeau?
Tim Yergeau worked as the strategic communications director for Planned Parenthood’s Southern New England branch. Police have not yet specifically named Yergeau as the suspect in their child pornography investigation. However, local media has confirmed that he was the intended target of a botched police raid on April 6. The medical confirmed that Yergeau committed suicide.
Yergeau earned a BA degree in communication from Boston University. He also worked in various marketing, communication, and public relations roles at Hartford State, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Huntington Theatre Company.
Yergeau was 36 years old. He left Planned Parenthood to become the marketing and communications director at Long Wharf Theatre in August 2022, according to the organization’s website. ‘We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the developments of the last 24 hours. Given the difficult news, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” a spokesperson for the theater in an email statement, reported Daily Mail.

He had previously worked for the New Haven Free Public Liberty Foundation. He was an abortion advocate and also promoted leftist and LGBTQ causes on his social media.
Police have not revealed details of the warrant and charges against Yergeau, stating there are still two open investigations related to the matter. They have declined to disclose what was found inside Yergeau’s house once they searched it.
